Access to Tokyo
There are two international airports, Haneda Airport and Narita Airport. In general, Narita Airport has a larger number of international flights, whereas Haneda Airport provides more convenient access to central Tokyo.
Both Narita and Haneda airports provide multiple transportation options to central Tokyo, including railways, airport limousine buses, and taxis. Please note that certain services require advance seat reservations, such as the Keisei Skyliner and the JR Narita Express from Narita Airport.
Suica and Pasmo
Suica and PASMO are rechargeable IC cards that can be used on most trains, subways, and buses in the Tokyo metropolitan area, as well as at many shops and vending machines. The two cards are mutually compatible, and users generally do not need to distinguish between them for everyday travel.
Physical cards can be purchased at major stations and airports. Mobile versions are also available via smartphone wallet applications on supported devices. Please note that mobile IC card availability and compatibility depend on the device model, operating system, and region settings. Visitors who are unsure about compatibility are advised to use a physical card.
