Travelling to Benevento

Reaching Benevento is relatively straightforward. The two recommended arrival airports are Naples International Airport (NAP) and Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO).

In general, Naples Airport is the closest option to Benevento and is often the most convenient choice overall. Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) is the recommended airport in Rome, as it usually offers the simplest onward journey to Benevento by train, with direct services available on some departures and, in general, an easier rail connection than other Rome airports.

Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO)

Rome Fiumicino is the recommended airport in Rome for travel to Benevento. Compared with other Rome airports, it provides a more convenient rail connection and is generally the simplest option if you plan to continue your journey by train.

Naples International Airport (NAP)

Naples International Airport is usually the most practical choice for travellers heading to Benevento. It is closer to the city and offers several onward travel options, including train, bus, taxi, and car rental.

Arriving from Rome Fiumicino Airport

By train

Rome Fiumicino Airport is connected directly to Roma Termini by rail.

The usual route is:

  • take the train from Fiumicino Airport to Roma Termini
  • continue from Roma Termini to Benevento

On some departures, direct train services to Benevento are available, making Fiumicino the most convenient airport in Rome for travellers continuing by rail. Even when a direct service is not available, it is generally the simplest Rome airport for onward travel to Benevento.

By bus

Direct bus options from Rome to Benevento may be available depending on the day and operator. However, in most cases, the train is the most practical public transport option from Rome.

By car

By bus

Travelling by car from Naples is simple and convenient. Renting a car may be a good option for those arriving late, carrying luggage, or wishing to travel directly to Benevento without relying on public transport.
