Abstract

Property based testing (PBT) has been promoted to the developer community at Equinor Bergen since 2018, using the python framework hypothesis. We show examples of how property based tests for our software and the bugs the tests discovered or prevented. We talk about courses and presentations held at Equinor to promote the use of PBT and the feedback we have gotten about its use.

Dr. Eivind Jahren is a software developer at Equinor where he works on scientific computing that runs on HPC clusters. His doctoral thesis was on exact methods for optimization.
