In this tutorial, conceptual bases will be offered about what quantum software is, what are the principles that make it so different from the classical software development paradigm, and how they make a differentiating point when facing unsolvable challenges for classical computing. In addition, we will work with a simulation environment to understand and sketch small fragments of quantum code, allowing us to observe its behavior, and the effect that the principles of superposition and entanglement have on the basic processing units, the qubits. The objective will be to break that first barrier in terms of the development of quantum software, being able from this moment to continue investigating this highly disruptive paradigm.

En este tutorial se ofrecerán unas bases conceptuales acerca de qué es el software cuántico, cuáles son los principios que lo hacen tan distinto al paradigma de desarrollo de software clásico, y cómo marcan el punto diferenciador a la hora de afrontar retos hasta ahora irresolubles para la computación clásica. Además, en este tutorial se trabajará con un entorno de simulación mediante el cual empezar a comprender y esbozar pequeños fragmentos de código cuántico, permitiéndonos observar el comportamiento del mismo, y el efecto que tienen los principios de superposición y entrelazamiento sobre las unidades de procesamiento básicas, los cúbits. El objetivo será romper esa primera barrera en cuanto al desarrollo de software cuántico, pudiendo a partir de este momento seguir indagando en este paradigma tan disruptivo.

Dr. Ignacio García-Rodríguez de Guzmán, Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha, Spain

Ignacio García-Rodríguez de Guzmán received his PhD from the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain, where he also completed his undergraduate studies, and CISA from ISACA. He is currently a Professor at the School of Informatics of the same University, and Director of the Institute of Information Technologies and Systems (ITSI) of the UCLM, Ciudad Real. He is a member of the Alarcos research group specialized in Information Systems, databases and Software Engineering, and a member of aQuantum (Quantum Software Development and Engineering). He has been a Professor at the Rey Juan Carlos University of Madrid. His topics of interest are software reengineering, software modernization, model-driven architecture, software sustainability, and Quantum Software Engineering. In relation to these topics, he has written several articles in national and international magazines and conferences.

Ignacio García-Rodríguez de Guzmán Doctor por la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha, en la que también realizó sus estudios de Ingeniero en Informática e Ingeniero Técnico en Informática de Sistemas, y CISA por la ISACA. Actualmente es Catedrático de Universidad en la Escuela Superior de Informática de Ciudad Real de la misma Universidad, y Director del Instituto de Tecnologías y Sistemas de Información (ITSI) de la UCLM. Es miembro del grupo de investigación Alarcos especializado en sistemas de información, bases de datos e ingeniería del software, y miembro de aQuantum (Quantum Software Development and Engineering). Ha sido Profesor en la Universidad Rey Juan Carlos de Madrid. Sus temas de interés giran en torno a la reingeniería del software, modernización del software, arquitectura dirigida por modelos, sostenibilidad del software e Ingeniería del Software Cuántico. En relación a estos temas, ha escrito varios artículos en revistas y conferencias nacionales e internacionales.
