Unrealistic self-criticisms and negative assumptions known as ``cognitive distortions'' are considered the cause of most common mental disorders. Identifying these distortions is crucial and the primary step to providing appropriate treatment for many major mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, or stress. While there exist many conventional procedures, the domain of serious games remains unexplored. To capture cognitive distortions, we have developed an Augmented Reality (AR) game, ARCoD, playable on Android smartphones. In addition, we adapted ARCoD as a traditional 3D game, named 3DCoD, playable on smartphones to observe the influence of different game environments on player experience. The impact of different input methods on Player Experience (PX) is analyzed as a counterpart of the project. The findings are derived through controlled user experiments followed by statistical analysis.
