ICSE 2026
Sun 12 - Sat 18 April 2026 Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

The ICSE 2026 Future of Software Engineering panel is based on the observation that it is essential for any research community to have periodic conversations to pause and reflect about its shape and future, and that such conversations must be had openly, inclusively, and intentionally. The panel builds on a community survey and a one day visioning workshop held the day prior to the ICSE main program, and will discuss how we collectively feel we are doing, what is working well, what is not working well, and what alternative futures of research and publishing in software engineering may need to look like in a rapidly evolving world. Attendees are invited to engage both before, during, and after the panel on the ongoing ICSE FOSE Discord.
