ICSE 2026
Sun 12 - Sat 18 April 2026 Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Sun 12 Apr 2026 09:30 - 10:30 at Bora Bora IV - Opening and keynote Chair(s): Anila Mjeda, Marcos Lordello Chaim

Classical software engineering increasingly faces computational challenges as software systems grow in scale and complexity, while quantum computing is emerging as a promising tool to tackle hard problems. This keynote explores how quantum approaches can enhance classical software engineering tasks, including test selection, test minimization, and serving as a test oracle. We present applications on real-world case studies from industrial partners and the public sector in Norway, highlighting key results, limitations, and practical challenges. Finally, the keynote outlines insights from a research agenda on quantum AI for classical software engineering, showing how emerging quantum approaches can support and augment traditional software engineering workflows.
