Adding Workflow to a Workbench for Digital Geosystems for a more agile Research Software Engineering approach
Research software increasingly benefits from the systematic application of research software engineering principles. In this work, we present the software engineering influences on the design and development of a research software framework for geological modeling, shaping its architectural design and development methodology. We discuss how software engineering concepts contribute to a more robust and reusable workbench for geoscientific research, and how in general, software engineering standards can significantly improve research software development.
