Silvia Abrahão is a Full Professor of Software Engineering at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), Spain, where she also serves as Director of the Master’s Program in Software Systems Engineering. Previously, she has held visiting positions at the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) of Carnegie Mellon University (2010 and 2012), Université catholique de Louvain (2007 and 2017), and Ghent University (2004). Her current research focuses on understanding human-AI collaboration to support intelligent adaptation of user interfaces, quality assurance in model-driven engineering, empirical assessment of software modeling approaches and the integration of usability/UX into software development. She has led eighteen research projects/contracts involving academic and industrial partners, including the MULTIPLE (Mutimodeling approach for quality-aware software product lines) project, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation in close collaboration with the Rolls-Royce Software Centre of Excellence. More recently, she led the Spanish Network of Excellence on Software Quality and Sustainability. She has held several editorial leadership positions. From 2011 to 2017, she served as Spanish Editor of ERCIM News, the scientific magazine of the European Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics. She currently serves as Senior Associate Editor of ACM Transactions on Software Engineering and Methodology (TOSEM), and as Associate Editor of IEEE Software and Automated Software Engineering (AUSE). She also served as Editor-in-Chief of TOSEM’s Continuous Special Section on Human-Centric Software Engineering, which, given its success, is now a permanent area within the journal. Additionally, she serves as Department Editor of IEEE Software and Co-Editor of its Practitioner’s Digest department. She is also a member of the Editorial and Advisory Boards of Springer’s Journal of Software and Systems Modeling (SoSyM) and Wiley’s Journal of Software: Practice and Experience (SPE). She has actively contributed to the organization of more than 30 international conferences, including serving as General Co-Chair of the ACM/IEEE 17th International Conference on Model-Driven Engineering Languages and Systems (MODELS 2014), PC Co-Chair of MODELS 2020, and Chair of the MODELS Steering Committee. She currently serve as Chair of the ACM-W Rising Star Award Committee and as Research Highlights Chair for ACM SIGSOFT.
