Saïd Assar holds MSc and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from Pierre & Marie Curie University, and the french Habilitation à Diriger les Recherches (HDR) from Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne university, Paris. He is Professor (Full) of Information Systems at Institut Mines-Telecom Business School (IMT-BS) and is an associate researcher at CRI Research Lab, Sorbonne University, France. In 2012, he was a visiting scholar at Lund University, Sweden, with the Software Engineering Research Group (SERG). His research interests include models, methods, and tools for IS design and development, empirical studies in IS design, Enterprise Architecture and Digital Transformation.
His work has been published in various national and international workshops and conferences (e.g. EMMSAD, CBI, RCIS). He has co-edited three books and serves regularly on program committees for national and international workshops and conferences (RCIS, CBI, BPMDS, EMMSAD, BIR, ECIS, etc.).
He was track co-chair at the European Confrences on IS (ECIS) in 2013, 2015 (http://www.ecis2015.eu/), and and 2016. In 2017, he co-chaired the Program Committee (PC) for IEEE RCIS’17 conference (http://www.rcis-conf.com/rcis2017) and co-chaired in 2018, 2021 and 2022 the IS Engineering track at IEEE CBI conference. He was Tutorials co-chair at CAiSE’22 (https://caise22.ugent.be/), and in 2024, he was General co-Chair for RCIS 2024 held in Guimeraes, Portugal (https://www.rcis-conf.com/rcis2024/). He was Workshops co-chair at PoEM’25 (https://poem2025.unige.ch/home) and is Forum co-chair at CBI & EDOC 2026 conference to be held at the university of Twente in Sept. 2026.
He is on the editorial board of Systèmes d’Information pour la Management (SIM) journal, International Journal of Enterprise Information Systems (IJEIS), Journal of Theoretical and Applied Electronic Commerce Research (JTAER), and the IT for Development Journal (ITDJ).
