Wonyeol Lee is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at POSTECH. Before joining POSTECH, he was a Postdoctoral Associate at Carnegie Mellon University, working with Feras Saad. He received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University, advised by Alex Aiken. During his Ph.D., he also spent time at KAIST for military service, working with Hongseok Yang. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science and Mathematics from POSTECH.
His research spans Programming Languages, Machine Learning, and Continuous Computations. He aims to make foundational software (especially for continuous computations) more reliable and scalable. To this end, he studies fundamental programs and computations across diverse areas (e.g., machine learning, scientific computing), with a focus on their mathematical properties (e.g., correctness, efficiency).
