Andrew has worked at IBM since 2013 and is a Senior Technical Staff Member (STSM) and an IBM Z Resiliency & Innovation Strategist. He currently works on the IBM Granite Large Language Model, which is the underlying brain of IBM WatsonX Technologies.

Andrew is an IBM Master Inventor, holding 101 patents, with an additional 220 pending in the U.S.A. and International office. He has spoken in over 19 countries and on six continents regarding Quantum, AI, zOS, and Combinatorial Mathematics. In 2019, he presented to the United States Congress on the OpenWater Initiative, where he helped IBM spearhead the legislation to have OpenWater data made publicly available as a collaborative venture between IBM and The Nature Conservancy (TNC). In 2020, Andrew was named ”IBM Thinker” for being in the top eight inventors for the IBM corporation, filing 86 US Patents that year.

Andrew’s alma maters are Clarkson University, where he received a Masters in Computer Science with a focus on Green Energy Data Centers, and Castleton University, where he triple majored in Mathematics, Computer Information Systems, and Chemistry.

Andrew’s Hobbies include skiing, mountain biking, rock climbing, 3D printing, playing upright bass in a jazz band, fly tying, and driving his Subaru WRX.
