Bio:

Software engineer. He is a postgraduate of the University of Oxford (UK) with a dissertation on “quantum software engineering” (software engineering methods applied to quantum computing), and is a member of the British Computer Society.

Starting 1997, he covered leading roles in many areas, including: research leader of the COLUMBIA project (University of Salerno, Italy) for the application of artificial intelligence to image analysis, and scientific adviser to the NIIASS (State Scientific and Research Institute of Automated Systems in Constructions, Ukraine).

Since 2015 he is in charge, with NEXTSENSE (SRL), of the Division of Systems Engineering and leading the research and development of LED (Light Emitting Diodes) and O-LED (Organic Light Emitting Diodes) based photonic devices in the application of NUV-VIS radiations on pathogens, for the fight against MDR (Multiple Drug Resistant) microorganisms, in a wider strategy of contrast to antibiotic-resistance.

He is nominee of the 2020 Millennium Technology Prize, awarded every two years from the Technology Academy Finland for innovations that shall help to solve the great challenges of humanity while also being environmentally sustainable.
