APSEC 2026 — Asia-Pacific Software Engineering Conference
Overview
The APSEC 2026 Local Student Forum provides an opportunity for students in the field of software engineering in Indonesia to present and discuss their work or studies with fellow students, researchers, and practitioners. The forum aims to provide a platform for local students to receive feedback from academics and industry experts on their research, while also fostering networking opportunities with other students and professionals in the field.
The forum will be conducted in both English and Indonesian.
The Local Student Forum will be a half-day event where all attendees will present their work by focusing on one of their open research questions or study reflection/methodology. There will be appropriate questions, discussions, and audience feedback after the presentations.

Submission Instructions
Each Local Student Forum submission consists of two parts:
1. Personal Statement (required)
A short description about yourself, including: - Your name and affiliation - Research topic and advisor - Expected graduation time - What you wish to share or achieve in this forum
The Local Student Forum does not require submissions to be double-anonymized for the review.
2. Letter of Recommendation (optional)
A letter from your advisor that includes: - The student’s name - An assessment of the current status of the student’s research
The letter must come directly from the student’s advisor and be submitted in PDF format.
General Requirements
- All submissions must be in English
- Submissions must be in A4 paper size PDF format
- There is no style or length requirement
- The personal statement and the letter of recommendation must be merged into a single document before submission
The Chair reserves the right to reject submissions (without review) that are not in compliance or are out of scope for the conference.
Evaluation Criteria
Submissions will be reviewed by the Local Student Forum Committee. Participants will be selected based on:
- Anticipated contribution to the goals of the forum
- Potential benefits to the participants
- Potential quality and relevance of the research to software engineering
- Stage of the research
- Diversity of backgrounds, research topics, and approaches
