Call for Contributions
The Brazilian Software Engineering Showcase invites contributions for a special exhibition showcasing outstanding software engineering research conducted by Brazilian graduate students in Brazil. This initiative, co-located with ICSE 2026 in Rio de Janeiro, aims to highlight high-quality work developed across Brazilian universities and research institutes, while also promoting the activities of the Special Committee on Software Engineering of the Brazilian Computer Society (CEES-SBC).
This first edition of the Showcase is fully sponsored by CEES-SBC as part of its mission to promote scientific visibility, support emerging researchers, and strengthen Brazil’s presence in the international software engineering community.
Eligibility
We welcome submissions of papers that have received Best Paper Awards (or equivalent distinctions) in the research track of the following CEES-affiliated symposia:
-
SBES — Brazilian Symposium on Software Engineering
-
SAST — Brazilian Symposium on Systematic and Automated Software Testing
-
SBQS — Brazilian Symposium on Software Quality
-
SBCARS — Brazilian Symposium on Software Components, Architectures, and Reuse
Time window:
Awarded papers (written in English) from the last three editions (2023 to 2025) are eligible.
Authorship restrictions:
-
The beneficiary author must be a graduate student (Master’s or PhD) regularly enrolled in a Brazilian graduate program (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) at the time of submission.
-
The beneficiary author must have active SBC and ACM memberships at the time of registration.
-
Professor authors are not eligible to be beneficiaries, although they may appear among the co-authors of the awarded paper.
Each awarded paper may nominate one student author to receive Showcase credentials and ICSE access.
Submission Requirements
Submissions must include:
-
Full reference of the awarded paper, including the full list of authors.
-
Name of the student author (the one who will represent the work at ICSE 2026).
-
Event and year in which the paper received the award.
-
Category of the award (e.g., Distinguished Paper, Best Paper, etc.).
-
PDF copy of the official award certificate issued by the corresponding symposium.
-
Short statement on the relevance of the paper (up to 400 words) summarizing the contribution to be displayed in the Showcase. Additionally, the abstract may briefly show the evolution of the work, emphasizing how the research matured over time, how the proposed solutions were refined, or how empirical evidence strengthened the results.
All submissions must be written in English. The submission should be done by January 23, 2026, through the following link: https://forms.gle/zc8stdXzSjBcmuvW7.
