Call for Student Volunteers

Student volunteers play a crucial role in ensuring the success of ICSE. They help with tasks ranging from registration duties to local support. Being a student volunteer is an excellent opportunity to meet, interact, and network with leading academic and industrial researchers and practitioners in Software Engineering, as well as other students from all over the world who share your interest in the field. It also helps reduce some of the costs of attending the conference. We are looking for enthusiastic students to help make ICSE 2027 a unique experience for all attendees. This exclusive experience is available to graduate students from any country who have excellent communication skills in English and are ethical, reliable, punctual, organized, and proactive.

Responsibilities

Approximately 20 hours of in-person work during the conference week (April 25–May,01 2027): - Registration duties (e.g., setting up, preparing conference kits, and helping attendees register) - Technical assistance to speakers and other attendees - Providing directions to various locations at the conference venue - Checking badges and performing organizational duties in rooms and at social events - Being available to help with possibly emerging urgent tasks to ensure a seamless conference experience

Qualifications

  • Enrolled as a doctoral or master’s student between January and April 2027
  • Proficient in English with strong social and communication skills
  • Be in Dublin on April 24 to be operational on the first conference day (April 25)
  • Be available for at least 5 days between April 25–May 01, 2027
  • You will be asked to indicate your availability in the application form

Application Procedure and Selection Process

Each submission consists of two elements: 1. Online form completed by the student including a motivation to serve as a student volunteer ( A link to an online form will be made available here ) 2. Letter of recommendation submitted by the student’s supervisor ( A link for submission will be made available here ) The letter should address: - Organizational skills - Willingness to help - Proficiency in English - Any additional information supporting the student’s application

Important Dates

  • Submission deadline: January 8, 2027 (AoE)
  • Late submissions will not be considered
  • Interview period: Approximately January 13–22, 2027
  • Notification of results: January 29, 2027 (AoE)

Student Volunteer Co-Chairs will review all applications and invite selected candidates for a short online interview. Final selections will be based on the application materials and interview.
