Innovations in Software Engineering Conference (ISEC) 2026 invites submissions of research and experience papers presenting novel and unpublished results in all areas of Software Engineering (SE). We welcome papers on theoretical or empirical research, new techniques, case studies, lessons learned, or tool development.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Artificial Intelligence for Software Engineering
- Software Engineering for Artificial Intelligence
- Architecture and Design
- Cloud Computing
- Ethics in Software Engineering
- Formal Methods for Software Engineering
- Human Computer Interface (HCI)
- Industrial Aspects of Software Engineering
- Requirements Engineering
- Security and Trustworthy Computing
- Social Aspects including Diversity and Inclusion in Software Engineering
- Software Development Tools
- Software Engineering Education
- Software Engineering Processes including DevOps and DevSecOps
- Testing, Program Analysis, Program Synthesis
Papers will be evaluated on relevance to software engineering, novelty of contributions, thoroughness of evaluation, and clarity of writing.
ISEC 2026 will have two submission deadlines. Papers submitted in the first round will receive one of the following decisions: (i) Accept (ii) Reject (iii) Conditional Accept. Conditionally accepted papers will undergo a shepherding process. Papers submitted in the second round will not have the shepherding option and will be either Accepted or Rejected. All deadlines follow AoE time.

Submission Details
Submission Template: https://www.acm.org/publications/proceedings-template
Submission Link: https://isec26.hotcrp.com/
Submissions can be in one of the following categories: (1) Regular Papers (2) Short Papers.
Regular Papers: Maximum 10 pages (excluding references) in the standard ACM format. LaTeX users should use the sigconf class with review and anonymous options. Regular papers must present novel, high-quality research with thorough evaluation. Experience papers should focus on impact, challenges, and lessons learned.
Short Papers: Maximum 5 pages (including all content) in the standard ACM format. These may present innovative ideas at early stages but must show technical merit and potential impact.
ISEC 2026 will follow a double-blind peer review process. Authors must anonymize submissions: (i) omit author names, (ii) refer to prior work in third person.
Important Guidelines
All submissions must comply with the ACM Plagiarism Policy. Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere. The use of Generative AI Tools for writing is strictly prohibited; violations will lead to desk rejection.
For accepted papers, at least one author must register and present the paper in person. In exceptional cases (e.g., authors residing outside India), remote presentation may be considered. All accepted papers require at least one non-student registration for inclusion in the proceedings.
Best Paper Award
One Regular Paper may be selected for the Best Paper Award based on significance, novelty, clarity, and presentation. The decision will be made by the Program and Steering Committees and announced at the conference.
Accepted papers will be published in the ACM Digital Library and indexed by DBLP. A special issue with the Journal of Systems and Software is also planned, where selected high-quality submissions will be invited for extended versions.
