Stay safe at high altitudes
Boulder is approximately 5400 feet above sea level. If you are not accustomed to high altitudes, you might need some time to acclimate. Drinking lots of water and getting plenty of rest helps. The sun is also much more intense at higher altitudes. Please make sure to bring sunscreen!
Childcare
While PLDI is unable to offer childcare this year, ACM SIGPLAN may have childcare grants available for those who need to hire help while they are in town. We do not have a particular nanny or babysitting service to recommend, but here are some options to help you get started finding the care that is right for your family: Care.com and Nanny Lane are nation-wide services that help match families with nannies and babysitters, including in and around Boulder. Babysitters of Boulder is a local service for matching families with nannies and babysitters. There are also babysitting groups on Facebook and other social media.
