Travel to Tokyo
The City of Tokyo is well-served by two international airports (Narita and Haneda). Both have excellent connections to the city center. Upon arrival in Japan by plane, it is recommended that you proceed to one of the major train stations (Tokyo Station, Ueno Station, Shinjuku Station) and continue your journey from there, depending on the location of your hotel.
Subway passes
Unless you choose to pay for each trip individually, you will probably need to purchase a public transport pass. It is often convenient to do this at the airport on arrival. Japan has a very convenient prepaid card system (Pasmo and Suica). A card can be bought at most subway stations and convenience stores. In addition to public transportation, the card can also be used to pay at many restaurants, convenience stores, vending machines, etc.
Tourists can also buy 24/48/72-hour tickets, which can be a cheaper option. However, you may need to show your passport as proof of your tourist status. For more information, please refer to the following page: Tokyo Metro

TRAVEL IN TOKYO
Japan is well known for its easy to use and convenient public transport. However, Tokyo is a HUGE city and can be confusing at first.
Therefore, the use of navigation apps like Google/Apple/OpenStreet Maps is recommended. Furthermore, most of Tokyo’s subway lines and stations offer free Wifi.
Getting to Hitotsubashi Hall / NII
This year’s venue, Hitosubashi Hall (NII), is located very centrally, just north of the Imperial Palace, with good access to various sightseeing spots, e.g., Ginza, Shinjuku, Roppongi, Akihabara, Asakusa, and Tokyo Tower. Several major subway stations are within walking distance of the venue. The closest, with a walk of roughly 3 to 5 minutes, are Jimbōcho Station and Takebashi Station.
- if you choose to take the Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line / Toei Mita Line / Toei Shinjuku Line, get off at the Jimbōcho Station and head towards Exit A9.
- if you arrive by the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line, exit at the Takebashi station and head towards Exit 1b.
