Name:Ashlyn Campbell
Bio:

I am a passionate senior Computer Science and Sociology student with a concentration in Data Science. I am dedicated to technology and interested in advocating for inclusivity through my research. I aspire to pursue a Ph.D. because I am interested in applying computational methods to communities affected by social inequities.

My research interests broadly include Human-Centered AI, Computational Social Science, and Societal Computing. I aspire to leverage data science methods to tackle disparities in minority access to vital resources, such as mobility, to more equitable futures through information and education. With technology evolving rapidly and societal challenges arising from information inequity, I aspire to delve into the development of solutions to bridge this information gap.

I pride myself on being an active leader and member of organizations that promote diversity in computing. Not only am I a member of Rewriting the Code (RTC), Black in AI, and Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT), but I am also the Program Manager for RISE in Computing Stars and Program Specialist for AmeriCorps College AIM program. These experiences have shaped my perspective on the necessity of having a strong community as a minority in STEM and a first-generation student to thrive. I plan to advocate for students of diverse backgrounds to excel in academia and industry.

My hobbies include painting, traveling, hiking, swimming, and watching a great show or movie. When I am not avidly studying and working, these activities bring me happiness and enjoyment. My portfolio showcases my unique experiences and journey, offering a comprehensive insight into my academic and extracurricular endeavors.
