Name: Jeff McAffer
Bio: I love open source and love bringing more open source to more people and teams. My current role at GitHub fits that perfectly – enabling organizations to engage with open source @ scale. Whether it’s understanding communities and business models, or open source governance and compliance, or security, or training and business enablement, I get a kick out of making it understandable and easy, and can sometimes be found talking about this at conferences or on my blog.
In the past I ran the Open Source Programs Office at Microsoft, helping the company through one of its most profound transformations ever, was one of the founders of the Eclipse IDE, RCP, Equinox, and Runtime projects and worked in large corporations and small startups as CTO, founder/entrepreneur, director and manager as well as visionary, architect, project/team leader, designer and implementer. Somewhere in there I did a PhD in Meta-level Architectures at the University of Tokyo.
