Melissa is a Computer Science MSc student at the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of São Paulo (IME-USP). She holds a BSc in Computer Science in 2012 at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), where she has also served as a temporary professor of numerical analysis (2013). She has worked using and developing different free software projects. She has coordinated the front-end team to establish the Software Publico Brasileiro portal in a government-academia collaboration. She also was a front-end developer of the Noosfero social networking platform, and project manager at Colivre - a cooperative specialized in free software solutions. Her MSc research project investigates the FLOSS ecosystem, focused on the development and community FLOSS project.
