Naoyasu Ubayashi is a professor emeritus at Kyushu University and a professor at Waseda University. He led the POSL (Principles of Software Engineering and Programming Languages) research group at Kyushu University. Before joining Kyushu University, he worked for Toshiba Corporation and Kyushu Institute of Technology. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo. He was the general/organizing chair of AOSD 2013, ASPEC 2018, and MODELS 2021. He is a member of ACM SIGSOFT, the IEEE Computer Society, and the Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ). He is also a Fellow of the IPSJ.
