Patrick Wagstrom is currently the Director of Emerging Technologies for Verizon where he leads teams in evaluation and prototyping of cutting edge technologies such as AI/ML, blockchain, IOT, quantum, homomorphic encryption, and more. Prior to joining Verizon he was led the team that built out Capital One’s internal machine learning platform and was a founding member of IBM Watson Group. He holds a PhD in Engineering and Public Policy and Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University. He spends his spare time running and cowering in fear from our future AI powered overlords.
