Rebecca is best known as the software design geek who invented the set of object design practices known as Responsibility-Driven Design (RDD) and by accident started the x-Driven Design meme (RDD, TDD, DDD, BDD). She is a recognized leader in the development of effective software design and architecture techniques. Among her widely used innovations are the conversational form of use cases and object role stereotypes. She authored the influential texts, Designing ObjectOriented Software, and Object Design: Roles, Responsibilities and Collaborations. Before she became known for her pragmatic software design practices, she designed and implemented embedded software, the first color Smalltalk, and a universal linking loader, among other accomplishments.
