Dr. Martins is the Lecturer in Computing joining to the Arden University School of Digital Education in the summer of 2022 as Programme Team Leader of Computing Pathway from the Global Freshman Certificate Program. She is a postdoctoral researcher in Informatics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC-Minas, Brazil) and a Ph.D. in Science and Information Technology from the University of Coimbra (Portugal). She holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), PostgCert in Computers and Education from the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT). Her more than 12 years of teaching experience, lecturing CS core courses including vocational and higher education levels in Brazil, Portugal, and the US. As a researcher, she is interested in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary domains such as Computer Science and STEM Education (teaching and learning programming issues) and the social/cultural impacts of Digital Literacy (computers, education, and citizenship) in human development.
