Suzanne J. Matthews is a computer scientist and educator at the United States Military Academy (West Point). She is a professor of computer science in West Point’s Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, and a research fellow in West Point’s Cyber Research Center. She earned her Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Texas A&M University, and her M.S. and B.S. degrees in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Her research interests lie at the intersection of parallel computing, single board computers, cyber security, and computer science education. In 2019, she was recognized with the ASEE ERC Curtis W. McGraw Research Award. Dr. Matthews also co-authors (with Dr. Tia Newhall and Dr. Kevin Webb) Dive into Systems, a free on-line systems textbook with a low-cost print edition recently published by No Starch Press. Dr. Matthews’ other honors include a Texas A&M Dissertation Fellowship, a Rensselaer Master Teaching Fellowship, and memberships in the Upsilon Pi Epsilon and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies.
