Bio:

Edna Dias Canedo is a faculty member at the Computer Science Center (CIn) at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), Recife, PE, Brazil. She received her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Brasília (UnB) in 2012, where she was part of the Network Engineering research group. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Systems Analysis from Universidade Salgado de Oliveira in 1999 and her M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG) in 2002, specializing in Software Engineering.She has been working as a university professor and researcher since 2010. Her research interests are primarily in Software Engineering, with emphasis on Ethics in Artificial Intelligence, Large Language Models (LLMs), Requirements Engineering (particularly privacy and ethical requirements), and Gender Diversity in Computing.Professor Canedo has actively contributed to the scientific community through research leadership and service activities. She served as General Chair of the Brazilian Symposium on Information and Computational Systems Security (SBSeg) in 2017 and the Brazilian Symposium on Software Quality (SBQS) in 2023, both organized by the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC). She has also held several organizational roles in major national and international conferences, including Track Chair, Proceedings Chair, and Program Committee member. Among her recent leadership activities, she served as Proceedings Co-Chair of the IEEE International Requirements Engineering Conference (RE 2024) and Proceedings Co-Chair of the International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE 2026).
