Bio:

Christian Zirpins is a full professor for Distributed Systems in the faculty of Computer Science and Business Information Systems at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (H-KA), Germany. At H-KA, he is also head and deputy speaker of the Institute of Data-Centric Software Systems (IDSS). His areas of interest include distributed middleware- and software-technologies for data-centric systems engineering. Christian studied computer science and business administration at Hamburg University where he also received his PhD focusing on service-oriented systems. In 2006, he was awarded a Marie Currie Fellowship to conduct studies on software service engineering at University College London (UCL). In 2008 Christian joined the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and acted as a research team leader and project manager in the area of Services and Cloud Computing. In 2011 he changed to the research unit of SEEBURGER AG focussing on business-to-business integration and big data applications. In 2015, Christian accepted the appointment to a full professorship at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences. He is a member of various programme and organization committees and acts as a reviewer for a range of major journals.
