Bio:

Kelly is an associate professor in the Department of Systems and Computing Engineering at Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia). Before that, she worked as an R&D engineer and software engineer at Netfective Technology. She earned her Ph.D. in September 2010 from Université de Nantes, and in 2011 she completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the INRIA research lab. She has been involved in research and development projects (both proprietary and open source) since 2005, funded by public and private sources.

She has also served in roles such as General Chair of CIbSE 2017, Co-Chair of the Doctoral Symposium at CIbSE 2022 and CIbSE 2025, and Program Co-Chair of CLEI 2022. Kelly is a regular reviewer for high-impact journals such as IEEE Software and the Journal of Systems and Software. Her research interests include software architecture, the evolution and maintenance of complex software systems (e.g., legacy applications, IoT systems, microservice-based applications, quantum software, etc.). Kelly loves teaching programming to people of all ages.
