Dr.-Ing. Mazyar Seraj is a University Lecturer and Researcher in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (M&CS) at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). Before joining TU/e, he worked as a researcher at the University of Bremen and then German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), Germany where he received his “Dr.-Ing.” title. During his Ph.D., he conducted research that was mostly dedicated to finding out the impacts of visual block-based programming environments on young learners’ motivation to study computer science and the acquisition of programming skills in the context of smart objects and environments. Before joining the University of Bremen and DFKI, he studied for his master’s degree at Multimedia University (MMU) and worked as a lecturer at LUCT, Malaysia. He is currently working in the area of Human-Computer Interaction and Computer Science Education. He is a member of ACM as well as a regular reviewer for ACM Special Interest Group on CS Education. His research interests are in the area of Computer Science Education, Visual Programming, Programming Education, Digital Twins, HCI, Interactive Educational Systems, AI in Education, and Software Engineering.
