Bio:

Dr. Fehmi Jaafar is currently a Researcher at the Computer Research Institute of Montreal, an Affiliate Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Concordia University, a Consultant Expert in Software Security for the Auditor General of Quebec (Le Vérificateur Général du Québec), and the Vice Chair of the Internet of Things and Related Technologies Committee at the Standards Council of Canada. Previously, he was a full time Adjunct Assistant Professor at Concordia University of Edmonton, and a postdoctoral research fellow at Queen’s University and Polytechnique Montreal. Dr. Fehmi Jaafar received his PhD from the Department of Computer Science at Montreal University, Canada. He is interested in the analysis and the improvement of the security and quality of software systems, cybersecurity in the Internet of Things, and in the application of machine learning techniques in cybersecurity. His researches have been published in top venues in Software Engenering, including the Journal of Empirical Software Engineering (EMSE) and the Journal of Software: Evolution and Process (JSEP). He established externally funded research programs in collaboration with Defence Canada, Safety Canada, NSERC, MITACS, industrial partners, and foreign universities. He is holding, among other research supports, an NSERC Discovery Grant for the period 2019-2024.
