He earned his PhD in Computer Science from North Carolina State University under the guidance of Prof. Tim Menzies, focusing on data-lite machine learning approaches for software engineering. Shrikanth’s research spans a diverse array of topics, including software defect prediction, software supply chain security, enterprise crowdsourcing, code search, and mining software repositories, with a strong emphasis on leveraging machine learning to enhance developer experience and software quality.
Throughout his career, Shrikanth has held pivotal research and engineering roles at leading organizations such as Accenture Labs, Fujitsu Labs, Oracle, Microsoft, Infosys, and ABB. His work has resulted in multiple granted patents, award-nominated publications at top conferences like ICSE, and impactful open-source contributions—including tools for source code search and defect prediction.
