Dr. Tanmay Bhowmik is the Interim Chair and Associate Professor of Software Engineering in the Department of Software Engineering and Game Development at Kennesaw State University (KSU). Before joining KSU, he served as an Assistant Professor and later Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Mississippi State University. He also taught as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science in the School of Computer Science and Information Systems at Northwest Missouri State University.

Dr. Bhowmik earned his Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science from Mississippi State University after completing his B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering at the National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, India. Throughout his career, he has been passionate about advancing software engineering research and inspiring students to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

Beyond academia, Dr. Bhowmik has a wide range of interests. He enjoys traveling and cycling as ways to explore the world, cooking as a creative outlet, and reflecting on deeper questions through religion, philosophy, and geopolitics. He also loves immersing himself in thought-provoking documentaries.
