Dr. Zhao joined the University of Central Missouri as an Assistant Professor in Spring 2024. Prior to this, he earned his Ph.D. in Software Engineering and M.Sc. in Computer Science from Stevens Institute of Technology in 2023 and 2019. He also received a B.E. degree from South China University of Technology in 2015.
Dr. Zhao’s research interests span Software Engineering, Performance Analysis, Machine and Deep Learning, and Empirical Studies. He has published work in top-tier journals like IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering and has presented his research at esteemed conferences such as ESEC/FSE, ICSA, and ICPE.
Dr. Zhao has been involved in impactful research projects like the Software Architecture Instrument (SAIN) Platform and the Automatic Performance Issue Reports Detection Approach. He also has a strong track record in graduate and undergraduate education, mentoring students in software engineering and related areas.
