SUBMISSION GUIDELINES / GUÍAS PARA EL DE ENVÍO DE TRABAJOS / DIRETRIZES PARA SUBMISSÃO

Authors are invited to submit high-quality research papers describing significant, original and previously unpublished results in Software Engineering, in any of the official languages of CIbSE: English, Spanish and Portuguese.

The following paper categories are welcome:

Technical papers (no more than 15 pages): papers describing innovative research in the topics of interest of the conference. Papers in this category should describe an original contribution to the topics and should carefully support claims of novelty with citations to the relevant literature. Technical papers are evaluated on the basis of originality, relevance, significance of the contribution, soundness and quality of presentation. When an article builds on previous work by the author(s), the novelty of the new contribution with respect to the previous work should be clearly described. Technical papers should clearly discuss how the results were validated.

As in previous years, a set of the best papers presented at the conference will be selected for publication in a journal indexed in the Journal of Citation Reports (Science of Computer Programming Journal or similar). Additionally, the best paper will receive a certificate of recognition.

Emerging ideas papers (no more than 8 pages): papers describing new and unconventional approaches that depart from standard practice, on the topics of interest of the conference. They are intended to describe clear research ideas that are at an early stage of development. Papers on emerging ideas will be evaluated primarily on their level of originality and potential impact on the field with respect to promoting innovative thinking. Therefore, gaps in the state-of-the-art, relevance, correctness and impact of the idea should be accurately described. While it is not necessary to fully validate the idea being presented, a presentation of preliminary results is expected to provide initial information on the feasibility and impact of the contribution.

Articles on applied R&D projects or contracts with companies (no more than 4 pages): these contributions must describe R&D projects that are in progress at the time of submission. For these articles, the following information should be included: summary, main objective, beneficiaries of the proposal, technologies used and results obtained (so far and expected).

Poster papers (no more than 2 pages): papers describing an idea or initial state of a study, related to the topics of interest of the conference, and without the need to have obtained tangible results at the time of submission. The main objective is to enable conference participants to discuss these ideas with the authors and to contribute new insights to the work in progress. Accepted papers will be presented in poster format in a session in which there will be interaction between authors and conference attendees. In addition, the best poster will receive a certificate of recognition.


Invitamos a los autores a presentar trabajos de investigación de alta calidad que describan resultados significativos, originales y no publicados previamente sobre Ingeniería de Software, en cualquiera de los idiomas oficiales de CIbSE: inglés, español y portugués.

Las siguientes categorías de artículos son bienvenidas:

Artículos técnicos (no más de 15 páginas): artículos que describen investigación innovadora en los temas de interés de la conferencia. Los artículos en esta categoría deben describir una contribución original a los temas y deben apoyar cuidadosamente las afirmaciones sobre la novedad con citas a la literatura relevante.

Los artículos técnicos se evalúan sobre la base de originalidad, solidez, pertinencia, importancia de la contribución, nivel de validación, calidad de presentación y comparación con los trabajos relacionados. Cuando un artículo se basa en trabajos previos del autor o autores, la novedad de la nueva contribución debe describirse claramente con respecto al trabajo anterior. Los artículos técnicos deben discutir claramente cómo se validaron los resultados.

Como en años anteriores, se seleccionará un conjunto de los mejores artículos presentados en la conferencia para su publicación en una revista indexada en el Journal of Citation Reports (Science of Computer Programming Journal o similar). Adicionalmente, el mejor artículo recibirá un certificado de reconocimiento.

Artículos de ideas emergentes (máximo 8 páginas): artículos que describen enfoques nuevos y no convencionales que se apartan de la práctica estándar, sobre los temas de interés de la conferencia. Su intención es describir ideas de investigación claras que se encuentran en una fase temprana de desarrollo. Los artículos de ideas emergentes se evaluarán principalmente en su nivel de originalidad y potencial de impacto en el campo con respecto a la promoción del pensamiento innovador. Por lo tanto, las deficiencias en el estado del arte y la pertinencia, corrección e impacto de la idea deben describirse con precisión. Si bien la idea que se presenta no necesita estar completamente validada, se espera una presentación de resultados preliminares que proporcionen información inicial sobre la viabilidad y el impacto de la contribución.

Artículos sobre proyectos de I+D aplicados o contratos con empresas (máximo 4 páginas): estas contribuciones deberán abordar proyectos de I+D que en el momento del envío se encuentren en ejecución. Para estos artículos se deberá incluir en la siguiente información: resumen, objetivo principal, beneficiarios de la propuesta, tecnologías usadas y resultados obtenidos (hasta el momento y esperables).

Artículos para póster (máximo 2 páginas): artículos que describen una idea o estado inicial de un estudio, relacionada con los temas de interés de la conferencia, y sin que sea necesario haber obtenido resultados tangibles en el momento del envío. El objetivo principal, será que los participantes de la conferencia puedan discutir estas ideas con los autores, pudiendo contribuir con nuevos puntos de vista al trabajo en curso. Los artículos aceptados se presentarán en formato de póster en una sesión durante la cual se realizará la interacción entre autores y asistentes a la conferencia. Adicionalmente, el mejor poster recibirá un certificado de reconocimiento.


Os autores são convidados a submeter artigos de pesquisa de alta qualidade descrevendo resultados significativos, originais e inéditos em Engenharia de Software, em qualquer um dos idiomas oficiais do CIbSE: inglês, espanhol e português.

As seguintes categorias de artigos são bem-vindas:

Artigos técnicos (máximo 15 páginas): artigos que descrevem pesquisas inovadoras nos temas de interesse da conferência. Os artigos nesta categoria devem descrever uma contribuição original para os tópicos e devem apoiar cuidadosamente alegações de novidade com citações de literatura relevante.

Os artigos técnicos são avaliados com base na originalidade, força, relevância, significância da contribuição, nível de validação, qualidade de apresentação e comparação com trabalhos relacionados. Quando um artigo se baseia em trabalhos anteriores do(s) autor(es), a novidade da nova contribuição deve ser claramente descrita em relação ao trabalho anterior. Os artigos técnicos devem discutir claramente como os resultados foram validados.

Tal como nos anos anteriores, um conjunto dos melhores artigos apresentados na conferência será selecionado para publicação numa revista indexada no Journal Citation Reports (Science of Computer Programming Journal ou similar). Para além disso, o melhor trabalho receberá um certificado de reconhecimento.

Artigos sobre ideias emergentes (máximo 8 páginas): artigos que descrevem abordagens novas e não convencionais que se afastam da prática padrão, sobre os temas de interesse da conferência. Destinam-se a descrever ideias de pesquisa claras que estão em um estágio inicial de desenvolvimento.

Os artigos sobre ideias emergentes serão avaliados principalmente pelo seu nível de originalidade e impacto potencial no campo no que diz respeito à promoção do pensamento inovador. Portanto, as lacunas no estado da arte e a relevância, correção e impacto da ideia devem ser descritas com precisão. Embora a ideia apresentada não necessite de ser totalmente validada, espera-se que uma apresentação de resultados preliminares forneça informações iniciais sobre a viabilidade e o impacto da contribuição.

Artigos sobre projetos de P&D aplicados ou contratos com empresas (máximo 4 páginas): essas contribuições deverão tratar de projetos de P&D que estejam em andamento no momento da submissão. Para estes artigos deverão ser incluídas as seguintes informações: resumo, objetivo principal, beneficiários da proposta, tecnologias utilizadas e resultados obtidos (até o momento e esperados).

Artigos de pôster (máximo 2 páginas): artigos que descrevam uma ideia ou estado inicial de um estudo, relacionado aos temas de interesse do congresso, e sem a necessidade de ter obtido resultados tangíveis no momento da submissão. O objetivo principal é permitir que os participantes da conferência discutam essas ideias com os autores e contribuam com novos insights para o trabalho em andamento. Os trabalhos aceitos serão apresentados em formato pôster em uma sessão durante a qual ocorrerá interação entre autores e participantes da conferência. Além disso, o melhor pôster receberá um certificado de reconhecimento.

SUBMISSION / ENVÍO / SUBMISSÃO

All papers must be submitted through EasyChair, using PDF format only. Submissions should follow the Brazilian Computer Society style for conference papers.

Accepted technical and emerging ideas papers will be included in the conference proceedings, which will be made available through the Open Digital Library of the Brazilian Computer Society - SOL and Curran Associates, and subsequently indexed in DBLP and Scopus.

At least one author of each accepted article must register before the deadline for the final version. One registration corresponds to one paper only. Any author of each accepted paper must present it personally at the conference, or the paper will be excluded from the proceedings. If an author has more than one accepted paper and will present all of them at the conference, it is possible to pay 50% of the registration fee for the second and subsequent co-authored papers. If they are presented by different authors at the conference, each author must pay 100% of the registration fee.

Papers that are not within the scope of the conference, do not follow the formatting guidelines, or have been submitted or published in any other forum (conference or journal) will be rejected without review. All other submissions will be reviewed by at least three members of the Program Committee.


Todos los artículos deben enviarse a través de EasyChair, utilizando únicamente el formato PDF . Los envíos deben seguir el estilo de la Sociedad Brasileña de Computación para trabajos de conferencias.

Los artículos técnicos y de ideas emergentes aceptados se incluirán en las actas de la conferencia, que estarán disponibles a través de la Biblioteca Digital Abierta de la Sociedad Brasileña de Computación - SOL y de Curran Associates, y posteriormente se indexarán en DBLP y Scopus.

Al menos un autor de cada artículo aceptado debe inscribirse antes de la fecha límite para la versión final. Una inscripción corresponde a un solo artículo. Algún autor de cada artículo aceptado deberá presentarlo personalmente o el trabajo quedará excluido de las actas. Si un autor tiene más de un artículo aceptado, es posible pagar el 50% de la inscripción en el segundo y siguientes trabajos en co-autoría. Si son presentados por diferentes autores en la conferencia, cada autor debe pagar el 100% de la tarifa de inscripción.

Los artículos que no estén dentro del ámbito de la conferencia, no sigan las pautas de formato o hayan sido enviados o publicados en cualquier otro foro (conferencia o revista) se rechazarán sin revisión. Todos los demás envíos se revisarán por al menos tres miembros del Comité del Programa.


Todos os trabalhos deverão ser submetidos através do EasyChair, somente em formato PDF . As submissões devem seguir o estilo da Sociedade Brasileira de Computação para trabalhos de conferência.

Os trabalhos que não estejam no âmbito do congresso, que não sigam as diretrizes de formatação, ou que tenham sido submetidos ou publicados em qualquer outro fórum (conferência ou revista) serão rejeitados sem revisão (desk reject). Todas as outras submissões serão analisadas por pelo menos três membros do Comitê do Programa.

Turning Complexity into Clarity: How Storytelling Dashboards Transform Decision-Making


Talk: Industrial environments generate massive real-time data streams, creating complexity and overwhelming decision-makers. The challenge today is not collecting data but transforming it into actionable insights. Traditional dashboards often provide fragmented views that fail to align with decision-makers’ goals, leading to misinterpretation and missed opportunities. This talk presents a structured approach that integrates user requirements with advanced analytics through data storytelling. By transforming analytical objectives into coherent narratives, dashboards become intuitive tools that mirror decision-makers’ mental models. Combining requirement-driven design with visualization and storytelling principles enhances comprehension, reduces cognitive overload, and strengthens decision-making in complex industrial settings. The result is a fusion of automation and user-centered design: dashboards that go beyond visualization to tell the story behind the data. Real-world examples will show how storytelling dashboards provide holistic views and actionable insights that enable more informed decisions.


Bio: Maribel Yasmina Santos is a Full Professor in Information Systems and Technologies at the Department of Information Systems, University of Minho, Portugal. She is a Senior Researcher at the ALGORITMI Research Centre and the CCG/ZGDV ICT Innovation Institute, where she leads the data engineering and analytics group. Her research interests include Business Intelligence and Analytics, focusing on Big Data Analytics, including data architectures, data processing, data analysis, and data visualisation. Maribel Yasmina Santos was Vice-Dean of the School of Engineering at the University of Minho (2019-2022), Dean of the Pedagogical Council of the School of Engineering at the University of Minho (2019-2022), and Associate Director of the Department of Information Systems at the University of Minho (2010-2014). Maribel was actively involved in AGILE (Association of Geographic Information Laboratories for Europe), serving as Secretary-General (2013-2015) and Member of the AGILE council (2011-2015). Maribel Yasmina Santos is a member of the Association of Information Systems (AIS) and works to advance data science and analytics by enhancing data's role in organisations and society.

Profiting from the randomness of LLMs in the Requirements Engineering Process


Talk: This talk will focus on LLM’s characteristic of providing odd results, even for the same query, in tasks related to requirements construction. These odd results range from errors to strange results. However, the vast knowledge base of general LLMs, provides requirements engineers with the possibility of enlarging the information sources space, allowing the use of new strategies for elicitation, modeling, analysis and requirements process management. We will delve into these strategies, stressing the importance of human judgment.


Bio: Julio Leite is an IEEE Lifetime Member and a founding member of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC). Recognized as one of the pioneers of Requirements Engineering, he received the IEEE Computer Society Lifetime Service Award in 2017 and is a long-standing member of IFIP Working Group 2.9. He has served on the editorial board of Springer’s Requirements Engineering Journal and has been part of the RE conference program committee since 1993. His research spans Requirements Engineering and software reuse, and he has chaired major international events such as ICSR and RE-13. He has held visiting positions at institutions including the University of São Paulo, Universität Kaiserslautern, Fraunhofer IESE, the University of Toronto, and Università di Trento. Co-editor of Perspectives on Software Requirements and co-founder of WER, FEES, and WTranS, he has also authored "Livro Vivo: Engenharia de Requisitos". He frequently advises organizations on adopting innovative software technologies.

La ilusión del código: por qué el futuro del software no es solo programar, sino decidir


Talk: Durante décadas, la ingeniería de software ha estado centrada en la construcción de lógica determinística mediante código. Sin embargo, la adopción de modelos fundacionales (LLMs) y sistemas basados en datos está cambiando cómo se diseñan y operan las soluciones en entornos empresariales. A partir de la experiencia en escenarios reales de transformación digital, esta charla explora cómo el desarrollo de software está evolucionando hacia sistemas donde el comportamiento depende cada vez más de modelos, datos y contexto, y no únicamente del código. Este cambio introduce nuevos retos en validación, trazabilidad, seguridad y gobernanza, especialmente en organizaciones que buscan escalar el uso de inteligencia artificial de forma confiable. Se propondrá un marco práctico para entender este nuevo paradigma, donde la toma de decisiones se convierte en una capa central dentro de la arquitectura de software. El objetivo es ofrecer una perspectiva clara y aplicable que conecte los avances en investigación con los desafíos reales que enfrentan las empresas al construir y operar sistemas basados en inteligencia artificial.


Bio: Con más de 25 años de experiencia en tecnología, innovación y transformación digital, Federico Muller ha liderado iniciativas de alto impacto tanto en el sector público como privado, enfocado siempre en cómo la tecnología puede mejorar la vida de las personas, dinamizar los negocios y fortalecer las instituciones. Inició su carrera como consultor en Deloitte, fue consultor en proyectos de tecnología, y durante ocho años dirigió la transformación tecnológica de una entidad gubernamental clave, donde lideró proyectos de gran alcance como el primer Centro de Contacto Gubernamental, el Portal Único de Servicios del Estado y el Centro de Datos de Gobierno. Más adelante se desempeñó como consultor independiente, y desde hace trece años forma parte de Microsoft. Actualmente, es el Country Manager de Microsoft en República Dominicana, donde lidera las estrategias que impulsan la competitividad nacional mediante tecnologías como inteligencia artificial, ciberseguridad, nube e innovación digital. También trabaja de cerca con organizaciones estratégicas en sectores como aviación, educación y logística, acompañándolas en su evolución tecnológica para lograr resultados tangibles. Federico también ha sido docente universitario, impartiendo clases en instituciones como el Instituto Politécnico Loyola y el Instituto Tecnológico de las Américas (ITLA), y se ha destacado como conferencista nacional e internacional en temas de innovación, transformación digital y ciberseguridad. Complementa su trayectoria con formación ejecutiva en INSEAD, donde se ha especializado en Business Strategy, Financial Acumen, High Performance Mindset y Business Model Innovation. También ha cursado estudios en Accenture, enfocados en disrupción e innovación en servicios financieros.
