Award Recipients

We are delighted to award the Most Influential Paper at MSR 2024 to “The promises and perils of mining GitHub” by Eirini Kalliamvakou, Georgios Gousios, Kelly Blincoe, Leif Singer, Daniel M. German, and Daniela Damian, originally presented at MSR 2014.

This paper, selected by the MSR 2024 committees, stands out for its critical examination of data mining on GitHub, highlighting the challenges and implications for research in software repositories. Its impact over the years has been significant, shaping how the community approaches and interprets data from GitHub.
