SERI

The Software Engineering Research in India (SERI) Update Meetings, which are conducted annually, are informal events, with the aim of bringing together faculty, students, industrial researchers, and practitioners working in software engineering, to present and discuss advances in their areas of interest. The 2024 edition of SERI will be hosted by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus. This will be an in-person meeting, spanning July 19th and 20th. This event is sponsored by the India Chapter of SIGSOFT Special Interest Group of ACM, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus and ACM India Council

Talks will delve into foundational aspects, algorithms, approaches, or experiences, focusing on novel or interesting insights, relating to any aspect of software engineering such as requirements, design, development, analysis, testing, verification, or deployment.

Deadline for Proposal/Participation request submission: 10 June 2024 (Second Call).

Participation is open only to persons who have been notified by the organizers, and who have completed the participation confirmation form that has been shared by the organizers.

Call for Proposal and Participation

Deadline to submit Participation/Proposal (first call): April 26, 2024.

The Software Engineering Research in India (SERI) Update Meet, conducted annually, is an informal event, with the aim of bringing together faculty, students, industrial researchers, and practitioners working in software engineering to present and discuss advances in their areas of interest. The 6th SERI Update Meeting will take place at the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus , on July 19th and 20th, 2024. This event is sponsored by the India Chapter of the SIGSOFT Special Interest Group of ACM and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus. SERI 2024 invites both the submission of proposals and participation.

Proposal

The proposals can target a foundational aspect, algorithm, approach, or experience, focusing on novel or interesting insights, relating to any aspect of software engineering such as requirements, design, development, analysis, testing, verification, deployment, or maintenance. The submitted proposal could be based on prior published work or ongoing work. The submission is in the form of an extended abstract of up to 300 words, and an optional 1-page write-up.

The submission follows a single-blind process, and evaluation criteria include technical soundness, significance, presentation, and the ability of the work to spark discussion among the audience of SERI.

Notification of Acceptance of Proposal and Participation

Our notification will tell you whether your request for Participation is accepted. In case you have a Proposal to present, our notification will also tell you whether your Proposal is accepted.

Registration and Accommodation

There will be NO registration fee for this event. Participants will need to arrange their own travel and accommodation (suggestions for nearby accommodation options will be provided on the website). The committee shall disclose details on partial travel grants for students (if any) at a later date.
