Call for Submissions

The joint ISSTA/SPLASH 2026 conference will host a variety of workshops and co-located conferences, allowing their participants to meet and discuss research questions with peers, to mature new and exciting ideas, and to build up communities and start new collaborations. ISSTA/SPLASH workshops and co-located conferences complement the main tracks of the conference and provide meetings in a smaller and more specialized setting.

Call for Workshops

We invite proposals for workshops and co-located events to be held in Oakland, CA from Saturday, October 3 to Friday, October 9, 2026.

This joint event will create a forum for researchers, developers, and practitioners to present the latest work in software development, programming languages, software testing and analysis, and emerging new ideas in computing.

All co-located events must submit a proposal here:

About ISSTA/SPLASH Workshops

ISSTA and SPLASH provide complementary yet distinct tracks, bringing together researchers from different aspects of programming language and software engineering research. Workshops and symposia will occur throughout the conferences, with opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration. We welcome proposals for events that facilitate discussions, presentations, hands-on activities, and other engaging formats to foster the exchange of new ideas and community building.

These events will be less formal and more interactive than the main conference sessions, providing an ideal venue for emerging ideas, early research presentations, and collaborative exploration.

Important Deadlines

  • Deadline for Proposal Submission for Workshops: Saturday Jan 10, 2026, Anywhere on Earth
  • Notification of Acceptance: Feb 1, 2026

Submission Details

Proposals should outline the objectives, intended audience, and planned activities by filling in the required forms on HotCRP. Workshops that plan to have proceedings in the ACM Digital Library must obtain SIGPLAN or SIGSOFT approval. Workshops without proceedings still need conference approval of their prospective PC choices. More information and the submission form are available at the Submission Portal.

Upon acceptance, successful workshops will be asked to prepare a summary report suitable for publication in SIGPLAN Notices or SIGSOFT Software Engineering Notes.

Selection Committee

Event proposals will be evaluated by the workshop chairs in collaboration with the SIGPLAN and ISSTA executive committees.

Sponsorship and Reimbursement

ACM-sponsored workshops are permitted to have additional sponsors (i.e., getting donations specifically for the workshop, not for the main conference).

Funds go to the ACM. Workshop organizers can request reimbursement by emailing the chairs.

Further information about SIGPLAN sponsorship is available at: http://www.sigplan.org/Resources/Proposals/Sponsored/. Further information about SIGSOFT sponsorship is available at: https://sigsoft.org/policies/workshop.html
