Austin is the capital of the U.S. state of Texas and one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S. Although most well-known for its live music, barbeque, breweries, and breakfast tacos, Austin has a large technology industry. All of the major computer hardware designers (i.e. ARM, Intel, AMD, IBM, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Samsung, and Apple) have large offices spread throughout the city.
Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) is the major airport in the Austin area. Neighboring cities with major airports include: San Antonio (1.75 hours car ride), Dallas (3.5 hours car ride), and Houston (3.5 hour car ride).
Taxis from the airport cost around $25 USD one-way. Other options include SuperShuttle and the ride-sharing apps RideAustin and Fasten. Note: Uber and Lyft currently do not operate in Austin.
