March 13th 2017
To be eligible for a travel award, the applicants must be enrolled as a full time student in a graduate or post-graduate program at the time of the conference. It is not required that applicants be authors of an accepted paper, however their research area must be aligned with the technical topics covered by VEE. The award recipients must attend VEE’17 in order to receive the award.
Applications must be submitted using the above URL. All fields are required.
Student applicants also need to ask their direct thesis advisor to send an e-mail to the Student Travel Award Chair (toddm [at] microsoft [dot] com) with the subject line “VEE Student Travel Status Confirmation for <Your Last Name, Your First Name>”, stating that you are a full-time student pursuing an MS/Ph.D. or an undergraduate researcher. The advisor is also welcome to comment on the potential broader impact of making an award to you, e.g., if you belong to an underrepresented group, or if the candidate is unable to attend without a substantial travel grant. This email must be received by the application deadline.
Award decisions will be made based on funding availability with a preference to student’s that authored a VEE’17 paper. Note awards will be reimbursed only after the conference.
Please save all the original itemized receipts. You may need to mail them later.
Due to the large number of applications we expect to receive, we will NOT solicit letters from your advisors. It is YOUR responsibility to ensure that your advisor sends the email before the deadline. No exception will be made for any reason.
