This paper presents a case study of a project conducted at a manufacturing company with the objective of utilizing JAX-RS Reference Implementation (RI) to build RESTful services from SOAP web services in JSON/REST format for mobile applications targeting iOS and Android platforms. The study demonstrates the effectiveness of JAX-RS RI in simplifying mobile integration while maintaining enterprise-grade scalability and performance. Our findings indicate that RESTful services provide significant advantages over traditional SOAP-based architectures for mobile applications, including reduced payload size, improved performance, and simplified client implementation.
