Data Mining Algorithms Using/Used-by Optimisers: a DUO Approach to Software Engineering
The fields of Search-Based Software Engineering and Software Analytics have evolved mostly as separate fields. Both have strongly matured over the past years, leading to some solutions that are currently being adopted by practitioners. However, their achievements are limited by their isolated focus on either search-based optimisation or data mining. What could Search-Based Software Engineering achieve when using data mining? And what could Software Analytics achieve when using search-based optimisation? This talk will discuss recent advancements and the future of (S)SBSE in view of the emerging field of DUO – Data mining Using/Used-by Optimisers for Software Engineering.
