Requirements Engineering 2027
Mon 23 - Fri 27 August 2027 Milan, Italy

Welcome to the website of the 35th IEEE International Requirements Engineering Conference. The IEEE International Requirements Engineering Conference (RE) is the premier requirements engineering conference, where researchers, practitioners, students and educators meet, present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, experiences and issues in the field of requirements engineering.

Theme: The Human Element in RE: Evolving Skills and New Forms of Teaming

The 35th edition of IEEE RE 2027 (RE’27) will be hosted at Politecnico di Milano, Milan from August 23-27, 2027.

This year, we particularly encourage submissions addressing the theme “The Human Element in RE: Evolving Skills and New Forms of Teaming”.

Advances in AI and other technological and societal developments are influencing the methods and tools used in RE. Human judgment, skills, values, and collaboration remain essential.

This theme examines how RE work is evolving and how people collaborate with one another and with AI systems.

Work related to this year’s theme may address, for example, the skills RE professionals need and how they can be developed; methods that support effective human-AI collaboration; ethical principles and human values in shaping requirements; changes in roles, team structures, and work practices as AI systems are integrated into RE; the use of human-centered design to address user needs; and innovative RE practices and empirical case studies.
