Bio:

Dr. Daniel Graziotin earned his PhD in Computer Science, specializing in Software Engineering, at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy. He currently holds a tenured position as Akademischer Rat (comparable to assistant professor) at the Institute of Software Engineering, University of Stuttgart, Germany. In his role as the Head of the Human Aspects of Software Engineering division, he promotes talented early career researchers, conducts independent research, and teaches at the BSc and the MSc level. His research interests span various aspects of software engineering, focusing on software process improvement, software quality, developer productivity, and methodology development. Dr. Graziotin employs mixed research methods, including qualitative and quantitative studies, as well as interdisciplinary approaches, drawing from behavioral and social sciences. He serves as an academic editor for the PeerJ Computer Science Journal and the Research Ideas and Outcomes Journal, and as an editorial board member for the Journal of Open Research Software and the Empirical Software Engineering Journal. He has participated in organizing committees for numerous international research conferences (including ICSE, ESEC/FSE, and ESEM) and workshops, and has been a member of dozens of program committees. Furthermore, he leads the open science initiative at the ACM Special Interest Group on Software Engineering (SIGSOFT), promoting open access, open data, and open source practices.
