In-Young Ko is a Professor in the School of Computing and the Director of the Research Center for Big Data Edge Cloud Services (BECS) at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in Daejeon, South Korea. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California (USC) in 2003. Prior to joining KAIST, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Distributed Scalable Systems Division at the USC Information Sciences Institute (ISI). From 2005 to 2011, he also served as an adjunct faculty member for the Master of Software Engineering (MSE) program at Carnegie Mellon University.
His research interests span software engineering, services computing, and Web engineering. His recent work focuses on AI-driven, service-oriented software development within large-scale distributed environments, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), cyber-physical systems, and edge-cloud systems.
