Juliana Alves Pereira is a professor at the Informatics Department at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), Brazil. She completed her postdoctoral research at the University of Rennes, Inria/IRISA (France). She holds a Ph.D. degree in Software Engineering from Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg (OvGU) in Germany (2018). She received her doctorate with distinction (summa cum laude) and was awarded the Best Dissertation Prize from the School of Computer Science in 2018 (Germany). She earned her Master’s degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil). Her academic career falls on the interplay of software engineering and artificial intelligence. She is mainly interested in automating software engineering by combining methods from software analysis, machine learning, recommender systems, and meta-heuristic optimization. Juliana leads the Artificial Intelligence for Software Engineering lab (AISE), which is part of the Software Engineering lab (LES) at PUC-Rio.
