Bio:

Rika Koch is an assistant professor at the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH), where she leads the Research Group on Public Procurement and Law (PPL). She is also a lecturer in foreign trade law and public procurement law at the University of Bern.

Prior to her current role Rika Koch was a lecturer in WTO law and a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Zurich and worked as a legal counsel at the Swiss State Secretariate or Economic Affairs (Seco) as well as the Swiss Federal Office for Meteorology and Climatology (MeteoSwiss). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Zurich and a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Bern.

She earned her PhD at the University of Zurich on the topic of “Green Public Procurement under WTO Law”, with a research stay at the University of Nottingham (UK), supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF).

Her research focuses on public procurement and international economic law, particularly at the intersection of sustainability and digitalization.
