Call for Submissions: Doctoral Symposium
The APSEC 2023 Doctoral Symposium is an opportunity for PhD students in the field of software engineering to present and discuss their work with other researchers and practitioners. The symposium aims to provide a venue for doctoral students to receive feedback from academics and industry experts on their research, and to network with other students and professionals in the field.
The Doctoral Symposium will be a half-day event where all attendees will present their work by focusing on one of their open research questions. There will be appropriate questions, discussions, and audience feedback after the presentations.
Submission Categories:
We invite submissions from PhD students in two categories:
- Early Doctoral Track: This track is for students in the early stages of their PhD, who have already settled on a research area but have no publications that are core to their PhD and who are looking for early feedback on how to continue their PhD.
- Late Doctoral Track: These are aimed at students who already have results that they wish to present at the symposium.
Submission Instructions
Each Doctoral Symposium submission consists of two parts:
- A short paper. This paper submission has to be authored by the student only. The Doctoral Symposium does NOT require submissions to be double-anonymized for the review.
- A letter of recommendation from a student’s dissertation advisor. The letter must include student’s name, an assessment of the current status of your dissertation research, and an expected date for dissertation submission, The letter should directly come from the student’s advisor and be sent in PDF format to the Doctoral Symposium Chair (Yunho Kim, yunhokim@hanyang.ac.kr) with the subject:
