All the in-person registrants (including students) are invited to the banquet. Enjoy delicious Japanese food in the Izakaya style. Izakaya is a kind of pub in Japan. They serve beer and sake with many small plates of a variety of Japanese food.
This restaurant is famous for the dinner meeting between former-US president Bush and former-Prime Minister Koizumi. It might be more famous as a model of the scene in Quentin Tarantino’s 2004 film Kill Bill. This banquet is one of the events you should never miss!
From the conference venue to the restaurant, we go by bus. From the bus, we will enjoy a beautiful night view in Tokyo, including Tokyo tower (the second tallest tower in Tokyo) and Rainbow Bridge (maybe). After the banquet, you can stroll down the street to Roppongi, a very popular nightlife district in Tokyo, and drink a few more glasses of sake (Japanese rice wine) at a bar or a pub. Roppongi is just a few minute walk from the restaurant. Of course, if you want, you can take a bus to return to the conference venue, and go straight back to your hotel for Thursday sessions!
